In honor of Wilma Jensen's 90th birthday and her legendary career, she and St. George's Church are sponsoring a concert celebration to which you are invited.

The In Excelsis concert series' next offering takes place on March 8, 2019, 7:00 PM at St. George's Episcopal Church in Nashville. For this extraordinary concert celebration, Wilma Jensen, Organist and Choirmaster Emerita, has compiled an exciting and varied repertoire that ranges from classical international composers to American folk song to a modern day movie score. Joining Wilma will be St. George's Choir, Stephen Seifert, Nashville Dulcimer artist, noted organists and former students, Janette Fishell and James Mellichamp, opera singer Rebecca Price and Glenn Miller, basso profundo. Blackberry Winter Dulcimer Concerto, by Nashville composer Conni Ellisor, is one of the highlights of the program. Wilma transcribed the orchestral score of this piece for the organ and Stephen Seifert performs as the guest Dulcimer soloist for this lovely and popular composition.

The concert's theme is Past, Present and Future of the music program at St. George's. The selection of works to be performed and the many musicians involved create a thread from the time when the Choir first gained national recognition under Wilma's twenty year tenure there to the current Choir, under the direction of Dr. Woosug Kang. Under Woosug's direction, the contributions of the Choir and Choristers to worship at St. George's and in the concert series In Excelsis provide many opportunities to share their excellent choral abilities.

A reception will follow the concert.

For those who will be unable to attend in person, the concert will be streamed live (7:00 PM, Central Time) on St. George's website: Please note that the video of the concert will  not be available on the website after the concert ends.
